Masake is the Program Assistant at Chapter Four Uganda. He is a seasoned Human Rights Defender with extensive experience in working with disadvantaged and vulnerable communities to protect their rights and help them access justice. Most recently, Masake was a Paralegal Officer working with Uganda Law Society for over 5 years during which his exceptional performance earned him a certificate of merit from the President of the Society.
He has facilitated numerous sensitizations and trainings in prisons and communities over the last five years on human rights, criminal justice and issues pertinent to access to justice.
He is a regular columnist in Uganda’s local dailies, corporate magazines and other online platforms where he has authored a number of articles on issues of human rights, law, and social justice for publication. He is also a regular blogger on civil liberties and socio-political issues in Uganda and the region.
Masake also has vast experience on effective use of new online media and social media tools to drive campaigns and disseminate information to the relevant wider public online. He was recently selected to represent Uganda at the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) Media Programme for Sub-Sahara Africa in the, “Social Media and Journalism conference” in Nairobi, Kenya.
